Last updated: 21 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data of visitors to tokyostreethelsinki.com, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Finnish Data Protection Act.

1. Data controller

  • Tokyo Street Restaurants Oy (business ID 3090504-6)
  • Lönnrotinkatu 34, 00180 Helsinki, Finland
  • Email: hello@tokyostreethelsinki.com

The same controller operates the Tokyo Street restaurants at Hietalahti and Vallila. For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at the email above.

2. Scope

This policy covers the tokyostreethelsinki.com website. Table reservations and online orders are handled on our point-of-sale platform at pos.sciometa.com, operated on our behalf by our processor Sciometa. Data you enter there is processed under our instructions for the purpose of fulfilling your reservation or order.

3. Personal data we process

  • Cookie and usage data: with your consent, advertising and measurement identifiers set by Google (see our Cookie Policy). No advertising cookies are set before you consent.
  • Technical logs: our hosting provider records standard server data such as IP address and browser type for security and to keep the site running.
  • Correspondence: if you email us, we process your email address and the content of your message.
  • Reservations and orders: if you use the reservation/order link, your name, phone number, email and reservation details are processed on pos.sciometa.com.

The website itself has no contact form or newsletter sign-up and does not collect personal data directly beyond the above.

4. Purposes and legal bases

  • Advertising and measurement cookies — your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Responding to enquiries you send us — our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps prior to a contract (Art. 6(1)(f) / 6(1)(b)).
  • Processing reservations and orders — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Keeping the site secure and available — our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site and, only with your consent, advertising cookies from Google. You manage your choice through the cookie banner. Full details, including cookie names and durations, are in our Cookie Policy.

6. Recipients and processors

  • Google (Google Ireland Ltd) — advertising and conversion measurement, only after you consent.
  • Sciometa — our point-of-sale and reservation platform (pos.sciometa.com), acting as our processor.
  • Our hosting provider — hosting and security of the website.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the processors above and where required by law.

7. Transfers outside the EU/EEA

Where a processor such as Google transfers data outside the EU/EEA, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards under the GDPR, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Retention

  • Cookies: for the durations listed in the Cookie Policy; your consent choice is remembered for 12 months.
  • Email correspondence: for as long as needed to handle your request and a reasonable period afterwards.
  • Reservations and orders: retained on pos.sciometa.com for as long as necessary to provide the service and to meet accounting obligations.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased;
  • restrict or object to processing;
  • data portability;
  • withdraw consent to cookies at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@tokyostreethelsinki.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto, tietosuoja.fi).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version and its date are always available on this page.
